Anthem’s green buying team has been working with the Mierisch Family for more than a decade. Erwin Sr., affectionately known as Doc Mierisch, and his children have greatly impacted the specialty coffee industry. From sharing genetic research on their Nicaragua “Java” varietal to assisting the Cup of Excellence their family has single handedly changed the game on quality and nano lots. The family maintains a tight chain of process and quality control on their coffees and farms from seed propagation to post harvest production at their dry mill, Don Esteban. Finca La Huella is a like a wild botanical garden. Our green-buying team was enamored by the cool misty valley that cuts through the property as well as the lush fauna and monkey tail ferns!
