Gran Quetzal - Washed - Huehuetenango
69.00 kg, 152.12 lbs / bag
This coffee hails from Huehuetenango, a city that gives it's name to it's municipality in the highlands of western Guatemala near the border with Mexico. The name comes from the Nahuatl word for, “place of the ancients.” This coffee comes mainly from small producers who bring their ripe cherry down to the local dry mill to be paid premiums on the spot. Our boots on the ground select several day lots to build this "regional select" for consistency year after year. We are constantly cupping preship and approval samples of the next container coming, ensuring that this coffee maintains it's status as an excellent utility player, able to be used as drip, espresso, in blends or by itself. Think of it as the strong silent type, who will accomplish whatever you ask of it. (within reason of course)
